President's Challenge
Overview
President's Challenge (PC) is an annual fundraising initiative by President of the Republic of Singapore to raise awareness and invoke action to help the less fortunate in the community. Since 2008, CapitaLand has been supporting children's charities of PC through CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF). CHF has donated more than S$1.7 million to support 25 children charities in Singapore under PC to-date.

In 2015, CHF donated S$300,000 to President’s Challenge through the CapitaLand #100KHopeHours Challenge.

In celebration of Singapore’s National Day in August 2014, CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF) supported “My Singapore 2014: Moments of Love” National Day Charity Fund Raising Concert to raise funds for children charities under PC 2014. As the Presenting Charity Sponsor of the concert, CHF pledged to match dollar-for-dollar the proceeds raised from the concert. With a total of S$100,000 raised and CHF’s pledge, a S$200,000 donation was presented to His Excellency Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, President of the Republic of Singapore, at the concert at The Star Theatre on 12 August. Beyond donations, CapitaKids from China, whom CHF has been supporting under the CapitaKids Programme @ Arts Scheme since 2012, gave a memorable performance at the concert.

In 2013, CHF donated S$100,000 to beneficiaries of PC 2013. In 2012, 10 corporate donors each bought a limited edition Because iCare – Kai Kai and Jia Jia giant pandas philatelic frame in support of PC 2012. In addition to the amount donated by the corporations, CapitaLand raised more through the sale of exclusive panda eco-bags at 29 of its participating properties. CHF donated S$10 to PC 2012 with every eco bag sold at S$20. The total amount of funds raised was S$350,000.

In 2011, in conjunction with the launch of CapitaLand Orchids, Cattleya CapitaLand and Phalaenopsis CapitaLand, 10 sets of the specially-minted blooms of the two prized hybridised orchid species were designed and sold to corporate donors to raise funds for PC 2011. CHF matched dollar-for-dollar towards the funds raised from the initiative, bringing the donation to a total of S$400,000 to benefit eight children beneficiaries under PC 2011. The Guest-of-Honour, His Excellency Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, unveiled the two orchids and received the cheque from CHF.

In 2010, CapitaLand's donation of S$500,000 to President's Challenge, Singapore, was largely due to the charity sales of the book "Building People: Sunday Emails from a CEO Volume 2", written by Mr Liew Mun Leong.
